(b. 1999, Ahmedabad, India)

I'm a sculptor based in the Southern Aravalli Ranges of Rajasthan, India. I hold a BFA with Distinction from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (class of 2021). I've garnered numerous scholarships and accolades, including the Space118 Grant and recognition on the shortlist of The Arts Family London Award. I’ve taken part in several group shows and have held multiple solo exhibitions. My most recent solo show, titled “non-monolith: a body in particles”, was hosted at Blueprint12 in New Delhi in 2022.

My practice draws from regional experiences of irregular rainfall, excessive humidity, and decimating hills. These local phenomena serve as a bridge to global concerns related to aesthetics and environmental crises.

My sculptures and installations are characterized by their use of a diverse range of materials, often repurposed from industrial and construction waste. I frequently reference sites such as open quarries, mines, embankments, palaces, lakes, river, and ghats, among others. Through observation, interpretation, adaptation, and purposeful alteration of aesthetic encounters generated by these locations, my artworks convey themes related to materialism, representation, and extraction. My work critically explores the concept of "inert" matter, challenging the traditional focus on abstraction as the foundation of reality. By compelling the viewer to confront waste, my sculptures reorient the focus toward materiality, portraying matter as vibrant and lively.
